Knee pain while walking or standing
My mother has polio, since she was 5 year old. Now she is having heavy knee pain when ever she tries to walk or stand. My consulting doctor says that her bones are being worn out day by day. They suggested knee replacement for her. I have her xray report and other medicine description given by doctor. Please suggest if suggested operation is right or wrong?

Hello dear Thanks for reaching out. Since your mother has got polio i expect that she has always had problems getting out of bed. That could also be a cause for her knee pain. I cannot comment on whether to offer her a knee replacement or not without seeing her Xrays. Regards Dr Vipin Gupta
