Am having lower back pain on left side from.past 3 years, which shoots up if I climb too many stairs else bend in front. Earlier the pain was only in the lower back but now it feels like radiating to my left leg also. The Pain started as a strain which was caused due to weight lifting in gym to which I didn't paid attention and ignored at place of taking rest.

Pain ongoing for 3 years and getting worse, needs an investigation in the form of an MRI scan to see what exactly is the cause. Also the radiation of pain is something that needs to be investigated. This could be just degenerative changes or nerve root compression. An MRI scan will help in knowing in more detail. Please see an Orthopaedic Spinal Surgeon for further assessment. Hope this helps.
