Mpfl tear due to knee dislocation
History of partial dislocation is twice. Both time had moderate joint effusion. Mri shows patellar instability due to trochlear dysplasia. Doctors says it is mpfl tear by seeing images from x-ray and mri. Can do basic normal activities now(happened in may 29). What is d treatment for this? Should I go for surgery or non operative treatment. Pls adv

Non operative management could be 1. Iliotibial band release 2. VMO strengthening exercises 3. Tapping/strapping for patella (McConnell/Kinesiology tapping) 4. Multidirectional patellar mobility exercise. Physiotherapist may plan based on progress of your condition.
