Hello there! I understand how difficult it might be for you to deal with panic attacks. The past year hasn’t been easy on any of us and there could be multiple reasons for it becoming worse. Since you have been experiencing this sort of difficulty since the past two years, I would strictly recommend that you consult a psychologist. A professionally trained psychologist will be able to decide a particular treatment plan and curate sessions for you accordingly. There are multiple types of talk therapy such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) that are found to be extremely successful to better manage panic attacks and anxiety and also to improve your self esteem. However, here are something you could practice alongside therapy that will help you to manage panic attacks and low self esteem better: Practise grounding techniques- One simple and effective grounding method is to identify 5 things you can see, smell, touch, taste and feel. This will make you focus more on the present moment and distract you from going into a spiral. Practise mindfulness - Even practising about 10-15 minutes of mindfulness a day is said to have produced great results in terms of confidence and self esteem. This too helps focus more on the present moment. Set small achievable goals for yourself and reward yourself in small ways or big when you achieve them. This will make you feel good about yourself and leave less room for self doubt. It is also important that you tell yourself that it is okay to be imperfect. Maintain a gratitude journal and maintain your connection with your social circle. The gratitude journal will help you be more thankful for everything you have and also help in positive thinking. Maintaining social connections play an important role in calming you down and also in supporting you through your struggles. Stay strong! You have got this!
