Hi, I'm writing this for my maternal uncle, who stays with us. He's 63 years old, partially handicapped(stammered speech & difficulty in walking). He's unable to hold urine/stool until he's able to reach the toilet. We've suggested him to use adult diapers, but he's refused. As a result, he would urinate or poop anywhere in the house daily. And he would deny that he has done it. It has become extremely difficult for us to live with him. We tried to convince him to consult a doctor multiple times, but he is too adament and doesn't listen to any of us. We are really concerned and are unable to figure a way out. Kindly suggest what steps could be adopted.

Actions based on good will, honorable intentions and perseverance will always bear fruit. Have faith in yourself and keep up your efforts. Try talking to him in a non judgmental and compassionate manner with the sole intention of helping him through his agony. Express your willingness to help him in a way that his self respect is not violated. You are capable of handling this.

I feel, instead of you people suggesting, it is better to consult a doctor and he might be able to follow his guidance and instructions..
If there are any other elders at home, try to convince him to visit the doctor..
Take care.
