Please advise medicines for my father. He has right side pleural effusion for 2 months. CT scan shows no sign of malignancy, no signs of TB, most likely cause infection. He is 68 years old with heart EF 25%. Blood, pleural taping reports are normal. Is biopsy necessary / safe?

It seems like pleural effusion secondary to low EF. Normal EF is around 60% did he have heart issues earlier? He might need diuretics and antifailure drugs. Consult a Pulmonologist and cardiologist
