Scoliosis - is brace required
I have mild scoliosis noted with convexity towards left side. I am going through physiotherapy treatment on regular basis. I have been asked by the therapist not to sit or stand for more than 15mins as it starts giving me pain.  As it gives me more and more pain especially when I sit and walk. I have a regular back pain belt so when it hurts me more I wear it; I get relief for sometime. But the time i remove belt again in sumtime I feel same pain. Also I have heard that wearing brace supports my back and also helps improve my posture. As according to doctor my shoulder is up down which is visible. Is it suggestable to wear a brace. Please suggest if yes, which brace should be worn. Please help with name as well.

Hi, According to your X ray , there is  straightening of spine which might be due to muscle spasm and reduction of disc space at L5-S1 which might be cause of Ur back pain. Your physio is the ideal person to guide you whether u need bracing or not. Concentrate more on strengthening exercises of back and weaning off lumbar support.
Next Steps
focus on exercises more
Health Tips
