This is a rough guide to sonography in pregnancy. - 6 to 9 weeks- viability scan (to date pregnancy, look for baby's heartbeat and pregnancy location) - 11 to 14 weeks - NT scan - 18 to 20 weeks- targeted sonography (detailed sonography of anatomy of baby, the most important scan during pregnancy) - 24 weeks (around 6 months- fetal echo. It is to study baby's heart) this is a 2D scan. - 28 to 32 weeks- growth scan. This is the best time for 3D scan - 37 to 39 weeks- near term scan. This is 2D scan.
Next Steps
Fetal echo
Health Tips
Only the 18 to 24 weeks scan is compulsory. All other are optional- depending on the recommendation of your gynaecologist
