Specific restrictions during pox
Is there any restrictions on food while one suffers from chicken pox? It's my 5th day today. Should I have a complete vegetarian diet, or I can go for non vegetarian diet as well.

Hi, It is very important to eat a nutritious diet. Ensure you are eating home cooked easily digested foods with all essential nutrients. Incorporate fresh fruits and vegetables in the form of fruit juice, vegetable soup, purees, etc. Ensure your water intake it optimal to prevent from dehydration. You can incorporate milk, buttermilk, lemon water, coconut water, etc. Easy to digested porridge, liquidy khichdi with equal portion of rice & dal, mashed potatoes, curd, etc can be incorporated. Chicken soup, egg scrambled or boiled, well cooked non fried fish in amounts tolerated can be incorporated. Certain herbs such as turmeric, garlic, Tulsi, etc, can also be taken as they have immune boosting properties. Avoid spicy food, fried food, coffee, energy drinks, salty foods, etc. Have small frequent meals.

Hi Consuming easily digested foods such as moong dal, bread, milk, roots and tubers, rice starch or ganji/ kanji, well balanced diet on emphasis on fresh fruits and raw vegetables, good amount of rest.. You can eat whatever you like to eat..there's no restriction..but you can have small meals many times a day and often, small portion sizes of meals, plenty of fluids, fruit juices at the beginning..etc.. Lemon juice can be especially beneficial...in this case.. Can opt for all fruit diet during recovery for 2 to 3 days, can take carrot coriander soup.. Some herbal teas like tulsi, dalchini, honey and lemon can be used...and can be taken several times a day.. Don'ts:. Avoid deep fried foods, outside junk, fast, processed and packaged foods, hydrogenated vegetable oils, ice creams, tea and coffee etc.. For further details contact through practo for a detailed analysis..and diet plan Thankyou
