I had digestive issues if I consume non-vegetarian food. I've been vegetarian for some time now and it fixed my digestion issues to a large extent. I don't like consuming milk so I hardly have it outside tea. But I've been reading about B12 and how it's deficiency can cause problems. Is this a problem and what's the way to deal with this problem?

Hello user
As you said that you are vegetarian for some time than dont worry bcoz if you consume vitamin B12 more given by the RDA guidelines then your liver will store it for future use and it is absolutely alright.
So being vegetarian some time is not to worry but it doesn't mean people who are vegetarian they have vitamin B12 deficiency
There are many fortified cereals who full fill daily need of Vitamin B12
Choose direct consultation with all your details about your meals and nutrition options and lifestyle then we can discuss things further and suggest anything
If you don't like milk to consume directly, then you can have it's byproducts such as butter, cottage cheese, home made curds, buttermilk etc..to get b12 and other sources are fortified breakfast cereals, previous night cooked rice soaked in water and leave it whole night to ferment and have the next day morning for breakfast... you can consume that also ..if you wish to..for getting b12 and is also very good for gut as it contains microflora the good gut probiotic bacteria..in the form of resistant starch..
Thankyou
Hi, Vitamin B12 is found only in animal sources. If you are avoiding non- vegetarian food and milk then no problem, however consider having curd, at least 2 cups a day. This should take care of your baseline requirement.
