Temp eyesight loss due to panic attack?
Is it possible to loose eyesight temporarily as a result of a panic attack? I had to have a difficult conversation all throughout the day, and when it ended late afternoon, I was just sitting quietly. Suddenly, I realised, I was not able to see anything clearly -- even the book in front of me. I was able to make out only the light and the dark, and the blurred shapes of the different objects in room. It lasted for about 2-3 min. My father was diagnosed with Glaucoma when he was 50.

It is possible but unlikely to be due to glaucoma. It is more related to blood flow. Good idea to see an ophthalmologist. You may need some tests for your eye and blood supply of the the eye

Hi, There can be few instances where a transient loss of vision can occur. It will be advisable to get a complete eye check up done along with eye pressures and retina evaluation. As you have a family history of glaucoma we should examine you at the earliest.
