Weight Gain
Hi, I have always maintained a healthy diet and do regular exercise. My weight has always been 54-55kgs.. During last few months I increased the intensity of my exercise but instead of loosing weight I have started gaining weight. My thyroid levels are 6.9 but I have been taking medication for it since 7 years now. In my CBC profile all the others levels are normal. My bowel movements are also normal. My sleep is also between 7-8 hours at night. I have been exercising and following a healthy diet since 2017, because of which I could loose 11 kgs post pregnancy. Since then my weight was always between 54 to 56kgs. Over a period of 3-4 months it is now 59-60kgs. My period cycles are also normal. Please advice

Hi It could may be due to some hormonal disturbance or imbalances which might in turn leading to BMR disturbances as well... Everything seems normal except for any hormonal disturbance relating to thyroid..or any.. In your case fat free mass should be increasing...please consult doctor regarding your thyroid levels once again..and take necessary guidance..wrt increasing weight .. Also please check whether you are having mostly home cooked food or not.. And if you are consuming only home cooked food, check for the different other method of cooking, meal portion size, what type, variety and kinds of food's you are consuming are all very important to know..

Exercising excessively does not guarantee weight loss,  infact it causes muscle inflammation ,body pains and hinders the weight loss significantly. So moderate intensity workout of 30 minutes for 5 days a week is more than enough. Along with healthy diet, taking small and frequent meals,  drinking 2-3 litre of water and sleep of 7-8 hours per day.

Once you lose few kgs of body weight there is going to be changes in your BMR,hence your calorie  intake can be increased  as per BMR,it looks like TSH is also higher, this also could be a reason  for weight gain.
Next Steps
from what you have given  as your history  it looks like your activity  is higher, your intake is lower in terms of healthy  calories and hence there  could be an imbalance kindly  connect  for a Balanced  diet plan as per your BMR & Day' s requirement.
Health Tips
include more protein  sources in your diet, from sprouts, eggwhites, mushrooms, lentils, whole pulses, and complex carbohydrates  from whole cereals, and good amount of fibre from variety  of vegetables, fruits and regulate your physical activity  optimally .
