Visited Dr. Sriharsha Ajjur (Urologist) For Prostate Laser Surgery
Hoped for better: Treatment satisfaction
I had consulted Dr Harsha regarding my father's problem about enlarged prostrate at his clinic. My father was 72 years old
looking at the reports he mentioned that the prostrate was exceptionally large in size and requires immediate surgery, he also
mentioned that the prostrate was affecting his kidney functioning, Dr Harsha also asked us to do one more scan to be sure as the
scan that we had done was few months old. We got another scan done at Clumax and the scanning doctor also mentioned the same that
the prostrate was big and requires immediate surgery. From all these discussions it looked like the surgery was a routine one.
Dr Harsha asked me to get my father admitted to Appolo jayanagar for the laser surgery. My father was asked not to take any food nor water
from the morning of the surgery. He was wheeled away for the surgery at around 12:45 in the afternoon. Till 6:30 in the evening we
didn't receive any news of what was happening inside. Dr Harsha then came and informed that they had done 4.5 hour surgery to remove the
enlarged prostrate and during the fag end of the operation my father's BP had started dropping, so they stopped the operation. He informed us
that the operation was 90% done and they will finish the surgery the next day. We went to check out on my father, he looked very tired but
looked stable and spoke to us as well. The next day, Dr Harsha told us that they will push doing the surgery by one more day so that my father
can recover. On this day, my father though in ICU was fully conscious, was consuming solid food and was talking with all family members. We were
confident that he will completely recover. That night at 8:00 PM , I received a call from the hospital that my fathers hemoglobin levels are down
and a blood transfusion was needed. So I went to the hospital and signed the consent forms. The next day early morning, my father had a cardiac
arrest (he didn't have any heart related issues) and he was effectively put on ventilator with his brain completely sedated. The doctors at ICU
told us that since my father's heart had stopped beating for couple of minutes, it was highly likely that his brain was damaged due to lack of blood
flow to the brain, so to prevent further damage they had sedated his brain. They told us that the only way they could find out his current brain
condition was by doing an MRI.To do the MRI my father had to be moved from 4th floor to ground floor, but his EEG and BP was not coming out to be normal.
For 4 days we waited for it to stabilize. After that an MRI was done and it looked like that no major damage had happened to the brain. We were
very hopeful that my father will make a full recovery. Dr Harsha told us that they will start removing the brain sedation drugs. Next day, my father
developed some infection as he was on the ventilator for close to 5 days now. His BP again started fluctuating. After one more day, all the doctors
told us that it is very difficult to save my father due to the infection and he was not responding to the treatment at all. Finally on the 8th day,
my father had another cardiac arrest and passed away. ***** ******** ** **** ***** ******** *** ***** **** **** ********* *** ***** * *** ***** *** *********** *** ** *** ****** ******* ** ** *** ** * *** ********** ***** ** ******** *** *** *** ********* ***** *** ******** ******** ** ******* ****** **** ******** ***** *** **** *** *** ******* ******* ** *** ******* * ********** ***** ************* * ****** ** **** ******** ****** *** ********** ** * ******* ** *** * ******* ********** *** *** **** ******* ***** *** ******** ***** **** ***** ** ******** **** *** *** ******* ***** ***** *********
Visited Dr. Ravindra Mehta (Internal Medicine) For Breathing ProblemsAsthmaShortness of Breath
Hoped for better: Treatment satisfactionValue for money
Visited Doctor twice in the month of April & May and twice he & his entourage of junior doctors changed medicines. **** **** * ********** ******. Dr Ravinder Mehta both times never sat across the table during the process of listening to symptoms and analyzing with explanation to the patient. The Doctor might be busy but for me I am my own concern and the transaction is not charitable .One of the junior docs pointed out a WhatsApp number to communicate on in times of emergency. And accordingly when I was out of breath while walking my dog my wife sent scan copies of ALL pathological reports & All Consulting Doctor prescriptions with explanation of how the events unfolded during the day at 1 pm and called and confirmed on the WhatsApp number if the message was received right. The owner of the WhatsApp number might be she is someone in the doctors team looking after bookings or so (pls salute to whatever job you do madam) confirmed at 1.30 pm that the team of doctors are busy in OPD duty. I got the same reply while checking up (called the WhatsApp number) at 5 pm & 20.30 very lax approach from this team of Doctors.
Visited Dr. Manish Samson (Orthopedic surgeon) For Knee Replacement
Note: This doctor is no longer practicing at
Happy with: Doctor friendlinessExplanation of the health issueTreatment satisfaction
I met Dr.Manish Samson for my dad's treatment. My dad is 70 years old and was recommended a knee surgery for his left knee by his orthopedic doctor from my hometown. He was suffering from knee pain from last couple of years and was not able to walk normally. I was told about Dr. Manish Samson by my friend who's father got a hip replacement surgery done by him some 10 years back and has no issues or complains till date.My first visit with Dr.Manish was along with my parents almost a month back. We were so delighted and satisfied after meeting him and I genuinely felt that my dad is in safe hands from the first visit itself. He is fully confident about his work and that reflects strongly in his approach towards the patient and their family. My dad was bit worried about the post surgery pain and complications but Dr.Manish very patiently explained everything in detail to all three of us. His confidence and approach automatically instills hope and positivity in the patient and the family. My dad had undergone the surgery a month back and has shown tremendous improvement from day 1. He has been asked to stop using the walker or any support now. He is able to walk at a slow pace but there isn't too much pain which he had before the surgery. Hopefully he will be able to walk at a normal pace in few months. I will definitely recommend Dr.Manish Samson for knee replacement surgery to others after our amazing experience.
Visited Dr. Naresh Babu G.S (General Surgeon)
My mother-in-law was admitted to Apollo Hospital with severe gallbladder pain. After conducting a CT scan and blood tests, it was noted that her lymph nodes were swollen. She was kept in the hospital for three days, during which Dr. Naresh reviewed all the reports and decided to perform a gallbladder removal through laparoscopy. She was then discharged.
However, the biopsy results later revealed that she had gallbladder cancer. ***** ******** ** **** ******* ***** *** ********* **** *********** *** ** ********* ********* They have advised that an open surgery, involving the removal of the gallbladder and scraping of the surrounding areas, should have been performed. This should have been evident from the CT scan report, yet Dr. Naresh chose otherwise.
Additionally, the hospital did not share our reports in a timely manner, which has been extremely frustrating. Our experience has been deeply disappointing, and we have lost complete trust in Apollo Hospital. We are now facing the challenge of finding other doctors *** *** ******** ** ******* ******* ** *** ** ******** This has resulted in us having to visit the hospital week after week.
Currently, my mother-in-law is undergoing chemotherapy, and we are hoping for the best. Our experience with Dr. Naresh and Apollo Hospital has been far from satisfactory, and we would not recommend their services based on our ordeal.
