1. What is PCOD?
PCOD is a condition affecting women and is characterised by the enlargement of the ovaries with the formation of small cysts around its edges. It generally begins during the teen years and is caused due to an imbalance in the hormonal levels.
2. What are the tests to be performed to diagnose PCOD?
No specific test is available for the diagnosis of PCOD. Your doctor may recommend clinical examinations such as checking for excess hair growth and tests to determine hormonal imbalance if any. A pelvic examination, ultrasound imaging and blood tests may also be recommended to diagnose PCOD.
