My FIL is having headache from past 2 months and after consulting general physician and having a routine eye check up,Dr advised for brain scan and mentioned the symptoms as Papilledema.One of the left eye nerve is weak since his childhood days.Kindly let us know what should be done.

If ophthalmology examination has revealed papilledema , then your FIL must urgently undertake CNS evaluation with a proper consult.
Its best you take a consult as soon as possible.
Papilledema is seen when the intra cerebral that is the pressure in the brain is increasing...it could be due to host of reasons .. which need to be ruled out. A brain scan preferably with contrast venogram ..or if that is normal a CSF examination to rule out any brain infections or inflammation
