Prevention medicine for Filaria

Hi, Some of my family members have Filaria. Hence I'm afraid if other members of the family like me may get infected. I heard that preventive medicine is available for filariasis and some governments give free medicines to citizens. So please suggest me which preventive medicine should I consume and dosage. I am from Kerala State of India. Thank you

There are various schedules available in different States. Please consult the office of CMO in your District about the schedule being followed. The combination has Albendazole and one other medicine out of Ivermectin or DEC.

A combination of ivermectin and DEC/albendazole can be taken.however,best to visit a physician in person,for an evaluation ,to see if it will be suitable.
