The safest procedure for you is LASER ASSISTED ABLATION or LASER assisted vaporisation of about 2-3 mm of the surface of the tonsils. This serves two purposes. It kills the bacteria found on the surface of the tonsils that cause the foul smell and bad breath. Secondly, by removing 3mm of the thickness of the tonsils, it converts the deep crypts for the tonsils into shallow pits whiCh are unable to trap swallowed food particles which go on to become tonsil stones. Since this is practically a bloodless procedure, it is safe and within one week of the surgery, the squamous epithelial migration from surrounding areas will re-epithelialise the tonsil surface, leaving healthy looking tonsils and no trace that a surgery was ever performed in your throat!
