Depression
I'm tired. Extremely tired mentally. I've reached a point in my life where i don't care about anything anymore. I don't have friends because I don't care. I can't sleep without crying. I tried explaining it to my mother once but she cried thinking I was crazy so I had to behave as if it was a one day thing. I'm 23 years old, and recently my family is going through a lot. And when I stepped up to help them out I was asked to shut because "children don't speak". I've been so furious since then.

Every family has problems and parents dis acknowledge their children is a common trait in Indian society. Your family has a problem and that’s your parents problem to figure out. When they need your help they will ask you in due time. Understand that parents instinctively do not want to involve their children in issues beyond the maturity of the child. Be supportive of your parents and be kind. The best way to remain mature through the whole situation is to remain calm and collected - and step up through different ways (for example running errands at home where your parents may not have time or taking care of a younger sibling or studying harder). YOU have the CHOICE to be sad and non-proactive adding to the existing tension because you seek attention during the time or the choice to remain calm and collected and proactive in your own way, becoming more independent, responsible and sensitive.
