Hello. TB is a bacterial infection. There will be a major loss in the appetite, but even then we need to make sure that the patient eats enough to build back the immunity required to fight the bacteria. The food provided should be energy and protein dense. Make sure all the food provided to the patient is in the cooked form, the salads that we give should be in the steamed form, even the fruits cant be raw, the apples and pineapples should be stewed. Nothing should be given in the raw form. the raw form could have more germs present on their surface, etc. the cooking kills the germs and makes it safe to the already infected patient to consume food. The antibiotic treatment should be aided with probiotics as the treatment will wash off even the good bacteria needed by the gut to function properly. Give small frequent meals, and never let the patient starve.
