Diet for hyperthyroidism
Hi doctor, I've been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and my weight has been decreasing rapidly. I lost around 5 kgs in the last 3 months while there is always an appetite to eat something. I'm also anxious most of the time and have diarrhoea. I'm requesting you to please suggest me food items to eat and to avoid to increase my weight. Thank you.

Hi, I hope you have already consulted and Endocrinologist and have started taking your medicine. Medicine should help your Thyroid gland slow down which would eventually stop your diarrhoea issue. Because during your situation, the Thyroid gland is overactive and that causes Diarrhoea. As far as diet is concerned,  nothing specific is advised in your case. But try and avoid Alcohol and caffeine products. If you want a specific Diet Chart, please reach out to me directly by Practo App.

Hi Good morning ! It's a hormonal disorder and this needs to be fixed well with diet and fitness. Do not worry you tend to lose weight in hyperthyroidism because your metabolism goes against your body. Proper nutrition required for thyroid function is essential. You need to know the root cause of it.
Next Steps
connect directly over the practo app personally because this requires a lot of changes in the diet.
