There is no chance u get fever after a normal dental scaling unless to you visited a very hygienic clinic. The fever could be for some reason.

If you have fever and cough you must be suffering from a bout of "common cold". It is a coincidence that you underwent scaling which is nothing more than brushing done by a dentist using a ultrasonic vibrating device . Good oral hygiene will definitely keep your dental health in good condition and good dental health is a reflection of physical health. So kindly don't attribute your cold to scaling . Most of the cough and cold are caused by viruses and they subside without Treatment.
Next Steps
Consult physician if your cough doesn't subside in next few days .
Health Tips
Scaling only enhances your oral hygiene and doesn't cause any harm and is Akin to brushing that we do everyday.
