Fluoxetine dose
My doc prescribe 40mg fluoxetine but I feel that it is higher dose. Can fluoxetine be taken 40mg and 20mg alternate day to make 30mg?

Hi, fluoxetine 40mg is not at all higher dose.Fluoxetine is a wonderful molecule and it takes minimum of two weeks duration to show its optimum therapeutic action.Its  advisable to adhere to the treatment regimen and in case you are experiencing any side effects like nausea,vomiting,diarrhea,report it to your doctor immediately.Please not, the side effects occur very uncommonly,though.

40 mg is not too much high dose .even if u feeling it as high dose..Alternate day is not a good option ...u can consult to your doctor..as per your symptom , doctor would decrease or maintain the dose

You can continue medication, don't overthink , it's a optimum dose , nothing to worry
