General question about position of Teeth
Hi, when our tooth are resting, i mean when we are not eating, does the upper tooth tip touch the lower tooth tip or does it be the same position as if we eat i.e upper tooth forward & lower behind?
Is it need to be the first pic or second pic attached
If you could pls explain

Your teeth looks normal
At rest (when you are not eating anything), there is a slight gap between upper and lower teeth
There is no touching at rest position

In resting position ,upper and lower teeth donot touch
There is slight gap between them

Naturally(at rest) upper jaw teeth are always placed outside of lower jaw teeth.
Wrt lips/cheek(at rest),
Upper teeth are placed nearer and covers the upper portion of lower teeth.

When at rest, the upper teeth are 2 to 4 mm ahead of the lower teeth. This is called normal overjet. They come in contacr only when you are biting into something. Thats norma.

At rest, upper teeth are in front of lower teeth.
The position you showed in 2nd picture is not the resting position. It is when you bite using front teeth.
