Your sleep troubles and random dreams can be due to anything in life of which only you would be aware of. It can be due to stress, anxiety, interpersonal issues, workload/academic stress, any negative life events, trauma, uncertainity, pandemic, etc. It is vital to be aware of your concerns, what could be the possible reasons for your concerns, to manage them.
You can consult a psychologist/therapist to explore your concerns and figure a beneficial way out. Therapy helps to identify/process your concerns in a safe & non-judgmental space, & provided a professional guidance to explore your concerns.
Meanwhile you can try these alternatives for your concerns:
1. Journaling - Write down your thoughts in a journal, it helps to vent out your thoughts/emotions/feelings, it helps to reflect on what you're undergoing and also helps to identify the causes for your concerns. It helps to gain an insight into your concerns.
2. Relaxation techniques - Try doing muscle relaxation techniques to keep yourself calm - JPMR (you can find this in youtube). Visualization also helps - wherein you imagine a happy place, involve/engage all your five senses in that imagination, this keeps you calm and composed.
4. Mindfulness - Trying to be focused on the present helps to divert from unwanted/unnecessary thought process. You can practice mindfulness through small techniques - 5-4-3-2-1 technique - name five things that you can see, four things that you can hear, three things that you can touch/feel, two things that you can smell and one thing that you can taste. Practising this regularly helps to invest mindfulness in your daily life.
5. Exercise - Involve in any kind of physical movement which would be suitable for you. It can be yoga, workouts, dancing, just moving around, taking a walk, stretching, etc.
6. Talk to someone - Try talking to your loved one - family/friends whom you trust about your concerns. It helps to vent out, and also gain validation from loved ones to realise that you're not alone on this.
Hope this helps :) Take care!
