Sir lamatrigene is prrscribed for depression also...my inlaws mentally abuse me that it is a dangerous drug...and no psychatrist in this whole world can give lamatrigene for depression...that doctors degree should b cancelled...plz answer yes or no...lamatrigene is used in depression also ...

It is very good drug for bipolar depression as well as added when treatment resistant depression.. It is one of the relatively safest drug which can be given in pregnant ladies for bipolar depression or epilepsy.. Only thing is it's skin related side effects which can be prevented.. If you feel any ithching or rash on any part of the body skin immediately avoid the next drug dose.. I have used it in hundreds of patients..

It can be used in depression also there are other class of antidepressants too which can be given in depression. Your in-laws should also come along with you for consultation so that doctor can explain them about your condition as well as drugs you are on and clear their doubts too. This will help you as well.

Lamotrigene is added to elevate depression, quickly, and prevent relapse of depression, which is very common. It is a safe drug and one of the few medicines with no sedation or weight gain. It has to be taken , and started very gradually.

It's very common drug .. especially we more use in bipolar depression as it is a less potency to switch into mania ..
