Try to take them along with you for your consultation so that they can understand your symptoms as well as they can clear their own doubts to this will help you for better compliance with treatment also lamotrigine can be given for depression as well also their are many other antidepressants drugs available you can talk to your psychiatrist and solve this.

As said by other clinicians on the platform, it's best to take your spouse & in-laws to the treating psychiatrist and get the strings unwind. Other way is to ask your psychiatrist to substitute lamotrigine with some other molecule if it not of utmost importance (anyway lamotrigine is not a very good choice for unipolar depression, though it has good role in bipolar depression)
Next Steps
Talk to your psychiatrist regarding switching Lamotrigine to any other adjuvant for Unipolar depression.

You have to take them to your treating psychiatrist and discuss th issue. Divorce is decided by the Court of law and not even doctors. Doctors can give treatment and advise. If the Court needs opinion if you are able to function in Marital life, they will refer you to a government hospital Psychiatry department or medical board. So don't worry, try to sort out this issue with your treating psychiatrist first in an open discussion with your family and your in laws family. Good luck. Stay strong.

You can ask your family members to visit your treating psychiatrist who can explain about the illness and the treatment plan. However if they disagree then the court will refer your case to a medical board when they file for divorce. It is preferable to sort the matter in family by discussing it with the psychiatrist. Only court can opine on the divorce, a psychiatrist can opine only on the illness and treatment.
