Low creatinine but high potassium (5.93)
Dear Doctor, My wife had a blood test today and there are some abnormal values in KFT. It has high potassium (5.93) and low creatinine (0.58). If potassium levels are mainly raised by kideny disease, then how the creatinine level is low? Also what can be one in this case?

It's possible that the sample was not collected properly and hemolysed which can show false elevation of serum pottasium.
Next Steps
repeat the sample for proper evaluation.
Health Tips
if on repeated testing, pottasium comes elevated, then consult an Urologist or nephrologist. avoid foods with high pottasium value like watermelon, banana, coconut water etc
