Oral Glucose Tolerance Test
I am 6 months pregnant have been prescribed the OGTT. Does the 75 gram of sugar drink harm the fetus or the mother? It is 3 times the per day limit of sugar for women and has to drunk within 5 mins after fasting. Such sudden spike in sugar can cause organ damage / stroke?

GTT at six months of pregnancy is necessary. You are not taking that much of glucose daily. It is not harmful for you and your baby. If there is any problem in GTT report then it can be managed accordingly by diet etc,so that you and your baby remain safe.
