Prolonged unhappiness
I am sad a lot since the last few years and don't have friends or a close family support system. I am very shy and hence find it difficult to speak in groups.Usually I can suppress negative thoughts but now find it difficult to concentrate. Please advise if I should visit a counselor, therapist or psychiatrist, as not sure if I face a serious problem. Also, what is the difference among them all.

First you need to consult a Psychiatrist. He will make your diagnosis and make line of management, if psychotherapy is required, he may refer you to the psychotherapist. Psychiatrist will counsel you and give you medicines.
