Plaque is a tooth like substance which attaches itself to the tooth surface.     It starts with soft deposites of food or bacterial colonies and ends up hard enough and alot of times attaches between teeth and gums, becoming hard, tooth-like in the process
Next Steps
Go for it! get your teeth scaling done! Oral prophylaxis once in every 6-8 months is recommended with a proper brushing technique (circular motion, soft bristled brush), twice daily.
