Wanting to discontinue escitalopram.
Ive been taking escitalopram 10 mg its only been 3 days i started this,i having strange discomfort in head its not painful just feels tight, muscle twitching and emotional numbness and increased anxiety sleep disturbance feeling very tired, the reason it was started by my psychiatrist is because i was having poor mood and social isolation and lack of interest in anything.
However the side effects i describe earlier are worse then the the problem itself and will negatively effect my college exams that are in a 2days ,also im unable to contact my psychiatrist a for the next 4 days ,can i Just stop escitalopram for a while? I don't think my body has adjusted to escitalopram use or ill face any withdrawal from it since it's been 3 days only since i started the medicine, im aware that suddenly discontinuing ssri is not a good idea and it takes upto 2 weeks to show its effect, but my exams are in the way,can i just stop it in early days of treatment for a while?

You can decrease escitalopram but what about the earlier treatments.

Take half tablet for next 2 weeks and then review with an astute psychiatrist. People have issues tolerating the medicine sometimes. Good luck

Drugs like Escitalopram can sometimes cause the symptoms as you have described.In addition, the drugs do take time to show their effects.
