Hi yes your son is slightly overweight.  But he is a growing child so if you are careful now with his diet and exercise you can control this problem.  Give him healthy and nutritious food. Good amount of  protein and calcium rich balanced diet. Cut out sugary and fried foods
Next Steps
Cut out the junk food. and snacks . instead substitute with nuts and makhana fruits for in between meal snacks. Give him a fruit when ever he is hungry rather than fried snacks etc.
Health Tips
you can consult with me on practo for a personalized meal plan for him.

Hi, I understand your concern regarding your son's weight. We can definitely help you to get him to a healthy weight appropriate for his age and height. But, that said it is also important to understand that he is in his growth years and requires right nutrition to support healthy growth and development. As he used to play tennis before the pandemic I believe his activity has reduced now. You can ensure he is exercising or doing some sort of physical activity that he loves for an hour daily. A personalized diet session is highly recommended as it takes into account details such as his lifestyle, routine, sleep, physical activity, eating habits, etc. This helps in identifying the gap areas and correcting them accordingly. As a start following tips can be helpful - 1. Set in routine for him for sleep, meals and exercise 2. Ensure every meal there is protein in some form such as dal, pulses, sprouts, dairy, non-veg etc. 3. Incorporate a fruit daily in between the meals 4. Ensure he exercises for an hour daily 5. Monitor the water intake and ensure he is well hydrated

Hi Hope you're safe and doing well He is in an age when it is extremely important to make sure he eats what's good for him and indulges in some or the other form of physical activity. Even though he is not able to continue tennis, he can do some indoor home workout. Here are some things that you can start with for him 1. Start some home workouts - you will get plenty of videos on YouTube 2. Make sure he eats well - any form of unhealthy foods less frequently 3. Include salads in lunch and dinner

Hi Thankyou for your query.. Well balanced diet containing more plant based protein, high fiber, moderate fat, moderate to little low carbs, nuts..less amount of milk and milk products, seasonal fruits and vegetables.. If non veg..please give him more of sea fish like salmon and macarel which has more of good essential fats such as omega 3's and omega 6 that have DHA and EPA which are good for growing children for cognitive development as well as overall development.. And chicken in the form of curry or soups.. Avoid outside foods completely, red meats, high fat dairy products, NO sitting more,..as child obesity is on rise.. No to bad types of foods such as noodles, bakery items, deep fried, pastas not to bd mafe at home too..as they do not contain any fiber which is harmful causing constipation too..
Next Steps

Good morning, As per his height his weight is on the higher side. He can start doing some home workout if outdoor workout is not possible. Also, need to make diet modifications as per his current schedule and habits. For now, he can stop eating junk if eating and include whole grains, fruits, vegetables on regular basis. As he is just 11yrs can't suggest standard diet plan.

While loosing weight, planning of diet need detailed discussion because he is in growing stage and weight loss should not affect his nutritional requirements. So I would suggest you to consult me personally so that detailed personalized diet plan I can provide according to his nutrients demand. While he can't play outside because of pandemic he can follow  home workout routine or some yogaasan which will keep him engaged in physical activity and also helpful to reduce weight and being fit and healthy. During corona pandemic weight gain is the major issue so he should limit his calorie intake which will help him to maintain weight. For more details contact me.
