Metox Am (5/50 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use if you have a heart condition known as 'heart block' (the electrical signal that controls your heartbeat is partially or completely blocked) that is greater than the first degree as it may worsen your condition. Your doctor may prescribe a suitable alternative or adjust the dose of this medicine if required based on your clinical condition.
Metox Am (5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you are diabetic due to the increased risk of low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia). Your doctor may monitor your blood sugar levels closely during the treatment with this medicine. The dose of this medicine may be adjusted by your doctor based on your clinical condition.
Metox Am (5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have liver problems due to the increased risk of serious side effects. Your doctor may monitor your liver functioning closely during the treatment with this medicine. The dose of this medicine may be adjusted by your doctor based on your clinical condition.
Metox Am (5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have glaucoma (a group of eye conditions that damage the optic nerve). A change in the dose of the current glaucoma medicine may be required in some cases. Your doctor may advise an alternative medicine based on your condition.
Metox Am (5/50 mg) Tablet should be used with caution if you have hyperlipidemia (high blood cholesterol levels) due to the increased risk of worsening your condition. Metox Am (5/50 mg) Tablet is not recommended for use if you suffer from cardiogenic shock (a life-threatening condition where your heart suddenly stops pumping enough oxygen-rich blood to your body) as it may worsen your condition.
Food interactions
Do not take Metox Am (5/50 mg) Tablet with grapefruit juice due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects such as dizziness, headache, swelling of hands and feet, etc.
Coadministration of multivitamins with minerals and Metox Am (5/50 mg) Tablet may decrease the effects of this medicine. Your doctor may advise you to maintain an appropriate time gap between the consumption of multivitamins with minerals and this medicine to minimize the chances of interaction.
