Around the period of 1965-70s the state of Maharashtra was undergoing sea change in its development under the able leadership of the then Chief Minister, Shri YB Chavan who initiated the cooperative movement in a big way. Taking advantage of this movement and to benefit the masses, the hospital was conceptualized and planned by Late Dr Vasant Shripad Ranadive under the auspices of Shushrusha Citizen’s Cooperative Hospital Society, Dadar (W).The hospital was founded in 1966, having been registered in 1964, under The Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960, and under Maharashtra Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1949. The completed building was inaugurated by the then prime minister of India, Mrs Indira Gandhi, in 1969. Originally it started with 2 floors. Dr Ranadive passed away in 1971. Shortly thereafter it entered a phase of slackening of patient flow when Dr Nandu S Laud, MS (Ortho), took the responsibility of rejuvenating it and developed it to the present level in a gradual and phased manner as the funds flowed in with his efforts of fund raising and expansion of member base. Since then the hospital had not looked back.

Visited Dr. Kunjal Sejpal (Ophthalmologist/ Eye Surgeon) For Reduced Vision
Happy with: Doctor friendlinessExplanation of the health issueTreatment satisfactionValue for moneyWait time
*** ****** ****** ** * **** ******** ******* My son was not in Mumbai, when I suddenly lost my normal vision.
My son requested Dr. Sejpal for her guidance over whatsapp after listening to my problems over phone.
Dr. Sejpal patiently heard my son and in a very friendly manner she laid down few possibilities due to which this loss of normal vision in my eyes could had occurred. Dr. Sejpal's patient centric behavior helped calm my son's anxiety and she then promptly booked her time in her calendar, matching my son's arrival in Mumbai.
Later we visited her in person, she treated me very well and with lots of empathy and respect. She asked her staff to assist me with a wheel chair and be very gentle while dialiting my eyes before examination.
Post examination she informed my son that as per one of the possible causes for the normal vision loss which she had mentioned earlier to him while he was not in Mumbai, has been confirmed. She identified the cause as Bilateral IOL dislocation.
Even though its a serious disorder, Dr. Sejpal in a very professionally handled my case and without wasting time, referred me to one of the very good Vitreoretinal surgeon near by our residence. This was to ensure that I get the best possible treatment very close to my residential area, so I don't have to travel all across. I was pretty impressed by this young woman's caring and loving gesture and invited her to my home for tea once I fully regained my eye sight.
She refered us to Dr. Swapnesh Sawant who is super skilled in his work and he too was very nice, talented and professional in his work.
My special thanks to Dr. Kunjal to take care of me in a very professional manner with lots of personal touch, as if I was her family member.
I got my one eye operated by Dr. Sawant and even then before, during and after the surgery Dr. Kunjal stayed in touch with me through my son to ensure all was OK.
We are deeply moved by the kindness and human centric nature which Dr. Kunjal has.
We wish her the very best in her professional life and hope she continues serving patients with equal care, empathy, respect and with lots of personal touch. Beyond talent, such soft skills certainly helps to build a strong and long lasting bond between the doctor and the patients.

My nephew suffered from cardiac arrest while he was driving is scooter in middle of the road. He was taken to a nearby nursing home while i called, Dr Bhagwat who made all out efforts including arranging an Ambulance and attended to the emergency . His timely response and expert handling of a complex surgery almost gave a fresh lease of life like a blessing to my nephew who has had another complications almost a decade later which was once again resolved through intricate surgery by Dr Bhagwat. His diagnosis and treatment are accurate and i recommend him to anyone whoever inquired for heart related ailment or consultation.
Visited Dr. Pradnya Diwan (Psychiatrist)
I was thinking of booking an appointment with her and was asking some questions coz idk how it works w psychologists so I was trying to get an idea. (Mind you she was personally recommended to me by my counsellor so I was really expecting better) She was really rude and just said “You haven't taken my consultation so what kind of questions you want to ask??? I don't even know you” Wouldn’t recommend her at all even if she’s great at what she does. If you don’t respect a potential client, how can you expect them to feel comfortable w you??
