As a habit it's not correct..or good to do often..
If habituated like (say for example) smoking or drinking..it becomes too difficult again getting out of that addiction..

There is no link between the 2. Gym is for calories burn & muscle activation. If you wish to do it, increase your direct protein intake more than grams of your body weight. You can ask your gym Dietitian for more info.
