Swelling post Root canal
I had undergone root canal - 1st time the doctor didn't notice the entire root depth. Hence the tooth got reinfected. Then he did root canal again on the same tooth. Now i am experiencing swelling and pain, hence he ia suggesting to remove the tooth. Can you please provide a solution for the above scenario. Thank in advance !

Hi...we need to see the X ray to decide whether the tooth definitely requires extraction. Pain and swelling following a root canal at times is a flare up scenario, where the microbes respond in a different way, it could settle with antibiotics and analgesics provided the root canal is done properly. Visit an ENDODONTIST ( ROOT CANAL SPECIALIST ) around your locality. He'l confirm you whether Re-treatment can be done or tooth has to be removed. Don't get confused. Sometimes, infections are persisting and resistant to treatment so they need proper dressing and attention. Everything will be fine but first get proper check up by an ENDODONTIST.
