Crown or cap of the tooth is necessary after root canal treatment as it ensures the strength and function of the tooth to be optimal. Before going for extraction your friend should get an iopa x ray done and let the dentist decide that it should be extracted or not.
Next Steps
visit a dentist, get an iopa x ray done ,try to save the tooth first.

Tooth extraction post root canal is difficult as the root canal treated tooth is brittle in nature.
Next Steps
X ray would be helpful.
Health Tips
If the tooth gets better post medication and tooth grinding you can still get the crown. Let extraction be the last option.

Hello, visit a dentist and get it checked, get an X-ray done. if the tooth can be saved, you can go for post and core and then get a crown placed over it. if not then go for extraction, missing tooth can be replaced later with fixed prosthesis or implant.

Tooth can be removed anytime but just get 1 x ray done. It can be saved if enough tooth structure is remaining.
Next Steps
visit an endodontist

Sir,it's a good idea to get an x ray done of the tooth before taking a decision to remove the tooth.of course a root canal treated tooth can be removed, but with some difficulty as the tooth will be brittle, and so could crumble during the extraction.

Hi,Get a xray done & visit a root canal specialist for opinion as if repeat root canal with cap can save the tooth. The last option is extraction.Meanwhile take antibiotics & painkillers for pain relief.

Visit dentist take xray. As cap was not placed chances of vertical tooth  fracture are there in that case extraction has to be done. If on xray there is problem with previous rct then re rct can be done.
