Essix and bonded Retainers
I had my tooth correction done recently to close my freen teeth gap. I am going to wear retainers. My dentist already fixed bonded retainer(wire) in the lower six front teeth. For upper teeth she gave Essix Retainer. Is it okay to wear bonded retainer in lower and esssix for upper teeth? Will it cause any friction between upper and lower teeth, since I wear Essix retainer only on upper teeth?

hello maam,no need to worry. There wont be friction between your retainers. Thias is normal protocol to follow. Just keep under observation that your retainers are in their place. If they come out get it fix immediately and follow up regularly with your orthodontist.
Next Steps
regular visit.

Greetings Don't worry, this is a regular retainer protocol followed post orthodontic treatment. Your concern would be perfectly fitting if the retainers given were other way around, but ur lower teeth rest on ur upper teeth this situation (friction btw the 2 retainers) won't arise. Please do wear ur retainer for the prescribed time religiously.
Next Steps
Visit ur orthodontist if the permanent retainer comes off and get it replaced immediately

Hi, Thank you for the question. No. The difference in retainers for Upper and Lower teeth will no change or affect your biting. This is a routine approach post Orth treatment. I am sure your Orthodontist has accounted for all scenarios before providing this approach. Furthermore, Fixed retainers in the upper may cause friction. Your lower does not overlap the upper. Its vice versa.
Next Steps
Nothing to be done. Regular check ups with your Orthodontist
