Uric acid is normally present in blood ,it is also byproduct of protein rich food but problems creates when its production is increased or its excretion is reduced and if its level remain high it can cause problems like gout( arthritis), swelling in joints, swelling in muscle tendons, burning, kidney disease, kidney stones so it is important to maintain its healthy level. 

What causes increase in uric acid level ? 

* Eating food before digestion of previous meal

 *Excess of salty and sour food

 * Excess oily, spicy and extremely hot food. 

* Excessive protein rich food likeSeafood,meat etc

* Sedentary lifestyle. 

* Stress.

 * renal diseases. 

 * Due to usage of some allopathic medications like diuretic drugs, aspirin etc. 

How  to control it?

 *Try to reduce weight gradually

 * Quit  smoking and alcohol. 

* Avoid legumes,pea,urad daal,kulatti ,mushroom, cauliflower, spinach, radish, sugarcane,  soybean and it's products.  *Avoid seafood, meat,curd and cheese.  * Avoid daytime sleep and awakening in night 

* Protect yourself from direct exposure to strong sunlight.  

*Do not consume junk food, soft drinks and frozen food.

 * Stay away from cold places,rain  and cold water bath. 

*Do not  overexercise.  

* Avoid sedentary lifestyle.  

*Control anger and stress. 

* Include wheat,rice, barley, pulses,moong,Masoor,moth,bajra, puffed rice in diet. 

 * Have overnight soaked nuts like almond, walnut, raisins etc.  *Amla,Sooran,karela,kaddu,parval,lauki, cucumber, onion, garlic,bathua,chaulai,same, green banana should be eaten.

  *Have fruits like apple, papaya, cherry, strawberry,pear, Coconut water, pineapple and grapes. 

 *Jeera, ginger, Fenugreek , cardamom, cinnamon, coriander must be part of regular diet.  

 *Massage with sesame or ayurvedic oils on daily basis. 

 *Drink 2-3 litres of water. 

* Do yoga and pranayam. 

 *Herbs like giloy, haritaki, guggul,punarnava,gokshur,vacha,shallaki , castor oil are useful.  There are many ayurvedic medicine for uric acid so consult ayurvedic doctor for it.  Panchkarma helps in detoxification and improve metabolism so it is also very helpful in controlling it.
