I'm trying to lose weight and want to consume more salads instead of carbs. So is it advisable to have cucumber before or during meals as it has a high content of water and it could potentially dilute the digestive acids ? If not, then what other salads may I have ?

You can eat cucumber,carrots, beetroot, turnips, tomatoes in salads.it is good to eat salads first then your food,as it make you feel full and gives satiety. So you will consume less of carbs. Don't skip carbs completely, body needs it for its normal functioning.
Eat whole foods and avoid refined foods like bread, bakery products, processed and fried stuff
Go for daily walk for atleast 40 minutes and do weight training.

Generally speaking, taking salad is one of the intakes in weight loss. You need to keep the water intake high, limit all refined, processed, preserved, packaged & outside food. Cut down on high salt high salt, high sugar & high fats in your diet. Increase your physical activity, regularise the sleep cycles etc.
